Hello…We are Don and Karen…
We started dating in February 1996. A few months later Don asked me to attend a swinger’s party with him. Don told me all about it, what to expect and what could happen. I was by no means a “Barbie” and I thought all the other women would be beautiful, skinny women. Later I found out that I was correct about the beautiful part but not about the skinny part. I told Don “maybe some other time”.
Don was very patient with me, he never pushed or even brought the subject up again. In the early fall of 1999, Don and I went camping. While we were camping we decided to go crazy and have sex in a public restroom at the camp grounds. A couple of weeks after we returned from our camping trip I said to Don, “Let’s go to that place you wanted to go to”. We went to the party at “Barry and Shell’s” in Oakland that night. We had a great time. At that time Barry and Shell were having swinger parties every Saturday night. After that first party, Don and I were there two or three parties a month. We felt very welcome there. In October 2000 we were asked to become a host there. We were very excited about this.
Once we started hosting we were at every party, every Saturday night. The swingers’ lifestyle brought us a lot closer in our relationship. In October of 2001 we were married. In the summer of 2003 we attended our first Lifestyles organization convention in Las Vegas. We had so much fun at the first convention we decided to volunteer to help out at the convention the next year, so we joined the Lifestyles “Care Team”. For the next four years we attended the Lifestyles conventions in Las Vegas as part of the “Care Team”. We loved it, we had a great time doing it also.
In February 2006 Barry and Shell decided to only have parties once a month rather than once a week. A lot of the couples that attended the parties asked us, “What are we going to do on the other Saturday nights?” That’s when we decided to begin hosting Bonobos Play Parties. We had the first Bonobos Play Party in March 2006. We have met some wonderful people, have had a lot of fun and are closer together than we have ever been.
How we got our name…
We started hosting Bonobos Play Parties in March 2006 because our local party house stopped having parties every week and changed their party schedule to only once a month.
At our first convention in 2003 we attended a seminar called, “The History of Swinging”. It was at this seminar that we learned all about Bonobos. We decided at that convention, when we start hosting play parties we would call our gatherings, “Bonobos Play Parties”. We didn’t want to call them Don and Karen’s.
What a Bonobos is…
For
those of you that don’t know what a Bonobos is, let me fill you in. A Bonobos is
a type of ape. Bonobos are physiologically closer to humans than African
elephants are to Asian elephants or wolves are to dogs. In the Bonobos society
the female makes all of the decisions. The females eat first and then decide
when the children eat and if or when the males eat. Bonobos solve their
problems with SEX. They have all types of sex. Unlike most species of animals,
Bonobos not only have “doggie style” sex, but they also have face to face sex
(missionary position), oral sex, and they have sex with multiple partners.
Females with females, males with males and males and females. Bonobos are not
monogamous creatures and I don’t believe humans are meant to be monogamous
either. If we were, then there wouldn’t be so many couples cheating on their
partners. We would all be very comfortable with only one partner for the rest
of our lives. There must be a little bit of a Bonobos in all of us.
We offer a safe and pressure-free place to explore sensual fantasies and meet like-minded people. We welcome guests who are 21 years or older.
